The term “breaking” is used to describe the process of training or starting a young horse to be ridden.
At Jerry King’s Training, expert horse trainer Jerry King prefers to call this process “building” a foundation instead.

Training/Horsemanship
Jerry specializes in green breaking horses for first-time riding as well as working with problem horses. Jerry starts most of his horses at around 2-years-old.
He takes in horses of all kinds to make the transition to under saddle as smooth as possible, but also works with horses that may have other issues such as refusing to load into a trailer or stand for the farrier. Jerry excels at peacefully solving these kinds of challenges.
Services and Rates:
Horse Training
- $1,000 monthly
Includes training, individual turnout, hay and feed daily, along with lessons for you and your horse so you can be a team together.
Lessons
- Sorting/Cutting
On your horse - $50
On our horse - $75
Private Clinics
- Sorting/Cutting/Horsemanship
- $150/day/person
We also will customize your clinics according to your needs.
Trailer Loading
- $150 plus travel fee of $1/mile.
If horse is coming to our farm for training, loading is included in monthly training. You will only incur the travel fee of $1/mile.
Jerry King can be scheduled for Clinics, Demos, and Appearances. They can be for cutting, sorting, or problem solving/horsemanship. Contact us to schedule a date.
